Living Puppet Show: Astounding Dancer Shows Off Unique Skill

A woman stands still, one arm out with a wrist bent. She's donned up to look like a puppet. A man stands to the side and behind her, seemingly "making her move" like a puppet

Dancers are incredible. No matter their preferred style, there’s something mesmerizing about someone who knows exactly how to move with the rhythm of a song. You’ll find some of the best dancers competing in World of Dance. With competitions taking place all around the world, there’s no shortage of unique performances to enjoy. And I have a feeling you’ve never seen one quite like this before.

That’s because this dancing duo pulls off what can only be described as a live puppet show. One of the dancers, Jaja Vankova, stands perfectly still on a small platform. Her entire body is made up to resemble that of a puppet — and it’s eerily good! Then, Jaja’s dance partner, James Derrick, starts to “move” her, making her dance exactly how you’d imagine a puppet would. See for yourself in the video below!

@worldofdance How on earth do they move like this⁉️ It's WOD Wayback Wednesday 🤝 We're taking it to World of Dance Boston 2017 with an iconic performance from B-Dash @bdash_2 & Jaja Vankova @vankovajaja🔥 #wodbos17 #waybackwod #worldofdance ♬ original sound – worldofdance

In order to pull off a performance like this one, so many things have to happen. For one, they had to perfect their puppet-like moves. But also, these two had to make sure they were as in sync as possible. Luckily, they did both of these things flawlessly! This dance took place in Boston back in 2017, but folks still rave about Jaja and James’ performance to this day.

Dancing Duo Pull Off a Living Puppet Show That Still Leaves Everyone Speechless

“Can’t move like that but my body sure does make those noises,” someone admits in the comment section of the video, with another adding, “No matter what I do I can never skip this video.”

“That first time her arm goes from bent to flicked out to the side with her wrist bent is so crazy looking,” a third person points out, “I love it.”
