Strangers all around the world are coming together from a distance. Lizzie Bartelt of New York, for example, just had the pleasure of “meeting” her neighbor and his cat for the first time. It all started when she taped a sign to her window.

Written in black marker was the burning question, “Hi! What is the white cat’s name?”
A few hours later, she looked outside and found a reply waiting for her! As it turns out, the adorable pet’s name is David Bowie. Lizzie shared photos of the awesome exchange online and quickly discovered she wasn’t the only one left smiling.

David Bowie’s owner, Chris Towers, shared photos from his side and explained that Lizzie’s sign made his day.

Of course, he also made sure to throw in a few heartwarming pictures of the cute cat facing Lizzie’s window. After all, he’s the true star of this story!

Chris thanked Lizzie for spreading some much-needed sunshine with the world, writing, “When this is all over, we’ll have to meet for real!”

But that isn’t the end of this story! Lizzie soon discovered there was a second cat across the street! Someone living below Chris put up a whiteboard with an awesome picture of their spotted feline, Vanilla Ice.
What are the odds Lizzie would meet not one but two stars’ furry namesakes?

This interaction proves that small gestures mean the world to those around us, especially in times like these! What a powerful reminder that we’re all in this together. Don’t be afraid to safely reach out!
