Using props from Harry Potter’s school years, the homeowners provide a visual display on their corner lot in the Museum District. The Halloween display contains parts of the Harry Potter world from front to back. On the side yard, you can see a shelf from the Hall of Prophesies, where Harry learns the prophecy that follows his life.
As you walk along the sidewalk, you pass two skeletal horse-like animals. A sign asks visitors not to feed the Thestrals. These beasts of burden haul the carriages from the train station to the Hogwarts courtyard. The creatures are invisible to anyone who has not seen a death. Harry and Luna can see them because they both lost their mothers.
Beyond the magical Thestrals is what looks like the greenhouse, with abundant plants and a cauldron. Beyond that is a mirror from the Magic Neep, an element from the video game. It is a magical store where players can unlock items to complete quests.
The Wall of Proclamations is next. The display contains replica versions of many of the proclamations made by Delores Umbridge when the Ministry of Magic took over Hogwarts briefly.
Aragog, Hagrid’s pet spider, is represented at the corner of the side yard, where the brick wall enclosing the backyard begins. Framed replicas of the Daily Profit featuring Harry Potter are on the wall.
Don’t look now, but a werewolf is in the backyard about to scale the wall to eat you! Be sure to Join the D.A. to protect yourself. Please share if you enjoyed this walk through the Harry Potter world.
