Is there any more iconic movie scene than the part in Dirty Dancing when Johnny and Baby totally nail the lift in their dance routine? Audiences still swoon over the classic moment where Jennifer Grey takes a running leap into Patrick Swayze’s arms, and he lifts her triumphantly in the air. One cat dad decided that it would be hilarious to recreate this scene with his four-legged friend on social media. He was right!
For this clip, the man was able to get Grizzly the cat to jump off a table and into his arms. Then, he lifted the feline into the air just like the duo in Dirty Dancing. Of course, the cat spent much more time licking his owner’s face than either of the characters in the movie. However, you have to agree that this version is way cuter!
Obviously, this hilarious cat video was set to the Dirty Dancing theme song, (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life. It received over five million views!
When Grizzly isn’t recreating memorable movie scenes, he’s hanging out in his dad’s woodworking shop. According to his store on Etsy, cat owner Justin LaRose transforms old, unusable skateboards into beautiful new items like pocket knives and cutting boards.
Back in 2021, The Dodo shared the sweet story of how these two met outside Justin’s shop. Grizzly was just a tiny kitten at the time, and Justin discovered him hiding underneath a bus. It was love at first sight for both of them. Within moments, the kitten was happily cuddling with his new dad!
It turns out that Grizzly is a little bit of a daredevil, which is probably why it was so easy to get him to participate in the Dirty Dancing lift. After spending so much time around Justin’s skateboards, the cat eventually started to enjoy getting rides. Now, he loves it when Dad gives him a push and lets him go!
We’re so glad that Grizzly and Justin found each other. What an adorable duo!
