Mark Conseulos and Kelly Ripa have a very happy marriage. The pair met on the set of All My Children in 1995. Mark played Mateo Santos, the love interest of Kelly’s character, Haley Vaughan. Their onscreen romance became true love off camera, and the pair eloped in 1996. Since then, they’ve welcomed three children and continued successful careers in the entertainment industry. Since April 2023, they have co-hosted Live With Kelly And Mark and often talk about their personal life. Mark recently spoke about a survey that found half of Americans would propose differently. After nearly 30 years, he admitted he’d change one thing about his proposal to Kelly Ripa.

Mark Consuelos Said His Proposal To Kelly Ripa Wasn’t Perfect
Yes, Mark got down on one knee but didn’t follow another old-fashioned protocol.
“I would change one thing,” he said during the show. “One thing I would change about the whole thing is that I wish I had called your dad.”
Kelly agreed that the little details disappointed her dad, and he still talks about it all these years later. At the time, Mark felt like he had a good reason not to call Kelly’s dad,
“Because we eloped, that would’ve thrown the whole elopement off, because I’m sure he would’ve talked us out of it,” he said.
She agreed and said that Mark’s mom was the only person who thought elopement was a good idea. That didn’t change Mark’s regret. “I still should’ve called your dad.”
Mark may have a tinge of regret about his proposal to Kelly Ripa, but she wouldn’t change a thing. The pair didn’t have an over-the-top Hollywood wedding. Instead, it was the two of them in Las Vegas, and nearly three decades later, they’re still together. Kelly called his proposal “A++.”
