Doctors and nurses on the front lines of the pandemic have risked their lives to save others, while essential workers ensure people have what they need. If they aren’t heroes, we don’t know who is! That’s why Mattel is honoring these brave individuals in a special line of collectible toys.

The toy manufacturing company recently unveiled its new Fisher-Price #ThankYouHeroes collection, which features 16 frontline workers as action figures. These include doctors, nurses, EMTs, and delivery drivers, and each has four different options to choose from. Mattel is also releasing a “Little People Community Champions” set including the same workers plus a grocery store employee.

“We’re talking about those brave souls who carry on doing their jobs despite the risks in order to keep the rest of us safe, secure and healthy,” Mattel’s website reads. We salute these heroes, and we think they’re pretty amazing role models for kids. Let’s play their heroism forward by lending a helping hand and sharing a little gratitude.”

For every online purchase made through May 31, Mattel will donate $15 to First Responders First. According to Thrive Global, a partnering organization, the fund will “provide essential supplies, equipment, accommodations, child care, food, mental health support and other resources for protecting frontline healthcare workers and their patients.”
“It’s wonderful to see this new Fisher-Price collection not only bringing joy to children, but giving parents and caregivers a new way to honor healthcare first responders and everyday heroes and their families,” said Arianna Huffington, founder and CEO of Thrive Global.

On top of that, the company is also producing face shields and cloth face masks for medical professionals. It has also launched the Mattel Playroom, an online resource packed with activities and content to keep kids entertained at home.

The action figures won’t ship out until December 31, but they’re definitely worth the wait! Not only do they pay tribute to the heroes of the pandemic, but their proceeds support them, too. What a wonderful way to thank them and give back!
