Matthew McConaughey loves America and isn’t afraid to show it. The star stepped out in style on September 8 to take in the men’s finals at the US Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Matthew donned an American flag bandana wrapped around his head, reminding the world that he loves red, white, and blue.

Matthew isn’t just an avid tennis fan, he likes to hit the ball, too. He took advantage of his time in New York to watch a quick match with Australian tennis player Nick Jyrgios.

The Men Seemed To Have A Great Time Playing Together

US Open Tennis Championships shared a video on Facebook of Matthew and Nick playing tennis at Arthur Ashe Stadium. It was a pretty great match, and Matthew is a lot more competitive than people might know.

A fan wrote, “Love that Matt plays one-handed backhand—old school.”

This person agreed, “Nick did not even break a sweat and wearing a hoodie too. I loved his play regardless of the opinions and what not is currently said about him. He’s only human after all.”

“Love Nick. Matthew breathless after 4 shots.”

Matthew McConaughey was one of many stars who showed up in Queens on Sunday to take in a bit of tennis. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift hung with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany. The two women embraced, shutting down rumors they might be embroiled in a feud.

Jon Bon Jovi, Dustin Hoffman, Edie Redmayne, John Hamm, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour were also on-site enjoying the beautiful weather.
