It’s been about 40 years since we’ve seen Uncle O’Grimacey, Grimace’s green relative, but he’s back and better than ever. McDonald’s brought Unlce O’Grimacey out of retirement in a big way.

The company shared in a news release, “This Shamrock Season celebration came to life when Grimace stumbled upon his family’s original Shamrock Shake recipe. That discovery sparked Grimace to reconnect with his vibrant, joyful, and generous uncle, Uncle O’Grimacey.”
Uncle O’Grimacey Will Help Celebrate Another Big Moment For The Company
According to Mcdonald’s. “Inspired to reunite with Grimace and support his favorite Charity’s 50th milestone, Uncle O’Grimacey packed his bags and embarked on a journey from Sham Rock, Ireland. Now that he’s here, Uncle O’Grimacey is traveling coast-to-coast, spreading Shamrock cheer with fans everywhere and celebrating RMHC and their mission to keep families together.”
Joy Silmon, a second-generation McDonald’s franchisee, said in the release,
“Our fans eagerly await the Shamrock Shake each year. We are thrilled that proceeds from this minty-flavored treat will aid RMHC in keeping families together. Family is a core value at McDonald’s, and we live this every day. Together, with our Crew, customers, and iconic McDonaldland character, Uncle O’Grimacey, we’re helping RMHC make families feel at home, even when they can’t be.”
McDonalds shared a fun promo on social media and fans loved it. With the help of Facetime Grimace and Uncle O’Grimacey reconnected to share the good news that the Shamrock Shake is back.
Ancestry shared from their official Insta, “The iconic family reunion we’ve all been waiting for! Thrilled we could help you dig into your family history and reconnect with your Uncle O’Grimacey in time for Shamrock Shake season, Grimace!”
Shamrock shakes are available for a limited time, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit RMHC.
