After decades of writing to one another, these elderly pen pals finally got the chance to meet in person. Even though they’d never actually seen each other face-to-face, they’d gotten to know each other very well over the years. So, when one of these women decided to surprise her friend with a visit, it was an incredibly emotional moment! Someone caught the sweetest footage of these ladies seeing one another for the first time.

In the precious clip, the visitor snuck up behind the other woman while she was sitting down at the table. She covered her friend’s eyes and made her guess who it was. However, since the two had mostly spoken on paper, they weren’t that familiar with each other’s voices.
“I don’t recognize the voice,” said the woman, confused.
However, something the visitor said next made her realize who was standing behind her.
“Who has come to see you and bless your heart?” she asked.
“Brenda!” her friend shouted.
Immediately, the elderly woman rose from her seat to give Brenda a big hug. These pen pals screamed and laughed with delight at finally getting to meet one another!
According to the caption underneath this video, the two women had started writing to one another in middle school to practice their cursive letters. Although their friendship had begun as a learning exercise, they remained in contact for over 60 years. How incredible that, after all this time, they finally got to see each other in person!
