On February 14, Pope Francis was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. It started off as a case of bronchitis, but he was soon diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia. Then, in the days that followed, the Vatican released a number of updates on his condition. Needless to say, the support being shown for Pope Francis can be seen worldwide.

As Pope Francis continued to battle this serious illness, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. But it’s not the rainbow’s beauty alone that has people in awe. For many, rainbows are a sign of hope and new beginnings. They are also associated with God’s promises. Given the circumstances around Pope Francis’ health, these sentiments are very much appreciated.
Rainbow Outside of Pope Francis’ Hospital Taken as a Comforting Sign From God

While Pope Francis continues to battle his illness, the Vatican released more good news Thursday morning. His blood tests show an improvement from Tuesday. Plus, a chest CT scan shows “a normal progression of the lung inflammation.”
The Pope does remain on “high-flow oxygen therapy,” and his prognosis remains “guarded.” Still, he’s said to have slept well last night. And with so many people around the world continuing to pray for him, he’s been able to remain in good spirits.
