Forget haunted houses — giving birth is by far the scariest thing you could do on Halloween! That’s why this mom decided to calm her nerves by showing up to the hospital in a silly costume. With some help from her husband, Laura Ortiz turned her pre-labor stress into “one of the most fun days of my life.” She shared the sweetest post about her experience on social media.

In her video, Laura captured some hilarious footage of her and her husband walking into the hospital in their costumes. They had both dressed up as Thor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since she was pregnant, the mom-to-be opted for the easiest, comfiest outfit this character wore while going through some dark times in Avengers: Endgame. All she needed was a cozy sweater, pajama bottoms, and a massive beard!
This mom-to-be had the best approach to giving birth on Halloween.
As it turns out, a little Halloween spirit went a long way toward making Laura feel better about giving birth. In fact, she had the best time hamming it up in her funny costume!
“Last year I went into the hospital to give birth to my daughter on Halloween,” the woman wrote in her social media caption. “I was nervous about possible complications so I decided to have as much fun with it as possible. I convinced my husband and we dressed up as Thor (from different movies) and gave out candy and turned our room into a “party” room.”
She continued, “It was one of the most fun days of my life! Birth can be scary but with the right attitude you can overcome the fear and learn to find the fun and joy in the process.”
At the end of her video, Laura shared a sweet photo she’d taken with her newborn daughter. This was just after giving birth on Halloween. Both she and her husband had the biggest smiles on their faces as they snuggled with their precious baby girl!
It’s so inspiring how this mom managed to transform her fear into fun. Now, she has the best birth story ever to tell her daughter when she gets older!
