There are some songs that you just can’t sit still through. They’re the classics like “Don’t Stop Believin'” or “Livin’ On A Prayer.”

For one mom in Maryland, that song was “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson. She loved it so much that when it came over the speakers at a basketball game she couldn’t help but sing along – much to the dismay of her adolescent son.

In a video shared by the University of Maryland, the (awesome) mom appears on the arena’s “fan cam.” She immediately starts singing along to the classic Kelly Clarkson song, using her cell phone as a microphone, of course.
At first, her son just looks on mortified, but soon enough she starts “singing” directly to him and he pushes her away because gosh, how embarrassing!
Twitter
Unfortunately for the kid, the fan cam is so obsessed with his mom that it never pans to any other fans. Everyone seems to be enjoying her performance (and his embarrassment) a little too much.
Mom, of course, knows what the crowd wants, and she delivers by pressing on and singing to her son despite him huddling in a ball with his hood over his face. She nails every single word and honestly puts on a performance that rivals diva Kelly Clarkson herself.
Twitter
Since the video was shared, it’s understandably gone viral. Across the board, people are applauding Mom for her spirit. Some shared stories commiserating with her son, while others pledged to do the same to their kids.
No matter how humiliated he was, we hope that kid knows just how lucky he is to have a mom like her! A mom who embarrasses her kid loves her kid.
Watch the epic performance in the video below and don’t forget to share with your friends!
