When older generations see moms of young children out in public, they might be tempted to say something. We often hear stories of strangers telling a mom that she’s parenting wrong or that she must have her hands full. Hearing those things while moms are in the trenches isn’t helpful and can hurt their feelings. But when a stranger says something kind to a mom with her children, that can make all the difference in the world.

A Mom Of 3 Had An Emotional Moment With A Stranger
Stephanie Morrison, 33, shared in a now-viral video that an older man said something that struck her during a walk with her kids.
Instead of saying something negative, as she expected, the elderly man said, “Wow, you’re gonna have a lot of fun.”
The sweet message from a stranger made the mom cry. She said she could see the joy in his eyes as he thought about his younger days, and she felt validated and loved.
“I don’t know why I’m getting emotional telling you now, but most people say, like, ‘Oh, you have your hands full.’ And it’s my biggest pet peeve,” she said. “But he was so sweet, and I could, like, see the memories flash through his eyeballs.”
As her video took off on TikTok, other moms shared sweet moments with strangers in the comments.
One wrote, “An older man in the grocery store stopped me when my son was 8 months old and said, ‘Young enough to still talk to the angels, put in a good word for me!'”
This person had a similar moment, “My only son is 7 months. I can’t have any more kids due to life-threatening complications at birth. The other day, a man said to me, ‘he gets to have you all to himself. Isn’t that so special?’ I cried.”
“I’m 8 mo pregnant, and an older gentleman in the grocery store looked at me and said, ‘Best thing you’ll ever do’… tears,” according to another sweet man.
Stephanie, we love this. Friends, take notes. Sometimes, that sweet comment from a stranger is just what a mom needs. Trust us, we know.
