You might not think that a 28-year-old would want a Barbie for their birthday, but this custom doll was no ordinary gift! Berenice Castro shared the most beautiful post on social media about the handmade present she received from her mom. It was so special, the young woman burst into tears as soon as she saw it. Berenice is known online for her signature style. So, when her 28th birthday rolled around, her mom got the incredible idea to create a custom Barbie that looked just like her. She picked one of the young woman’s iconic outfits from social media and got to work designing a mini version. It took a tremendous amount of time and effort, but Berenice’s reaction was worth every second of labor!
Mom documented every step of the creative process on video so that her daughter could see how her custom Barbie had been made. In order to make the doll look just like Berenice, she sewed a perfect replica of her child’s outfit from scratch. This look included a pair of hand-painted boots and a set of tiny jewelry!
Berenice couldn’t help but sob when she saw what her mother had made for her. She immediately recognized the outfit she’d worn in one of her social media posts. Not only did this incredible gift make her feel special, but she said that it also made her feel “seen.”
In another video, the birthday girl compared the custom Barbie’s look to the actual outfit that had inspired it. Her mom had done an amazing job recreating the clothing and accessories. You can watch the clip here.
