Meet Mork Skywalker! He’s a French bulldog mix who was rescued off a meat truck in China just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized.

Nikki Carvey is the founder of Road Dogs & Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to saving as many bulldogs and bulldog mixes with special needs from foreign slaughterhouses as they can. They are partnered with another rescue, Slaughterhouse Survivors, which is how Nikki first saw Mork. The organization sent her a picture of the little guy crammed into a crate full of other dogs, and she instantly fell in love.

“Oh my god, he looks like a little alien and his name is Mork. I want him!” Nikki recalls saying.

Fortunately, Slaughterhouse Survivors was able to save the whole truckload of pups. Then Mork was on his way to Nikki’s loving arms!

Even though he was sick and shy when he arrived, Nikki said he was already full of love for his new human and animal companions. Plus, his adorably smooshed face and pointy ears give him a striking resemblance to a certain green “Star Wars” character.

As the popularity of Baby Yoda from “The Mandalorian” increased, so did Mork’s online fan base!

“He’s kind of a mixture between Dobby, a French bulldog, and a cat,” Nikki said. “And the Baby Yoda thing is just hilarious.”

Nikki started an Instagram page to show off Mork and his new buddies. So far, more than 265,000 people have followed them for pup-dates!

Because of his many health problems, Mork is not eligible for adoption and will live with Nikki forever! She hopes his online following will help raise awareness for other shelter pups and dogs who are rescued from foreign meat markets.

“We all love Mork because he is so bloody cute,” Nikki wrote on Instagram. “But he is a mess. … A dog should never be bred to be different or cute. It should always be about health.”

Together, Road Dogs and Slaughterhouse Survivors have saved more than 50 pups from the meat trade. Each of them is now living their best life in the U.S. with families who adore them!

“If Mork makes you smile, please consider donating towards his medical and to help Road Dogs with all our other incredible rescue pups,” Nikki added. “We can only save lives with your support.”

Can you believe this precious Baby Yoda look-alike almost didn’t make it? Thank goodness for Nikki and all the other animal rescuers out there who are saving lives every day!
