While this gorgeous summit is an incredible place to visit anytime of the year, the months of October until late June can be especially special. Why? Because this is when the mountain is perfectly covered in snow. Well, that is usually the case, anyway. But this year is very different.

Despite the fact that it’s November 1, there is not a single flake of snow on the mountain. It’s entirely bare for the first time in over a century. We know this because record keeping on these kinds of details began 130 years ago. Needless to say, it is quite a strange sight to see this popular peak so bare.
