During his stunning piano performance, the 6-year-old boy glanced up to see his mother weeping. His tender expression was too sweet for words!
“The look on my 6yo’s face when he realizes his original piano piece has me sobbing…” wrote the mom over her video. “I cannot.”
In her caption, she added, “This original piano piece by my 6-year-old, Max, grabbed hold of my heart and absolutely wrung it out. I was an emotional mess hearing this melody pour from his heart and into his fingers.”
For such a young pianist, Max has some truly incredible compositional skills. If someone had told us that this piece was written by an adult with a master’s degree in music, we would have believed it! However, it wasn’t just the boy’s impressive abilities that made his mom feel so emotional. She was also moved by the inspiration behind his original melody.
Here’s what inspired this 6-year-old’s piano piece.
“We were in one of our most favorite places in the world when he composed it… Nani and Papa’s house in Mendocino,” Mom said in her social media post. “That’s what he named this piece before he even played it. ‘Mendocino.’ A stunning ode to the magical days we were having on our summer vacation.”
Commenters were completely floored by this child’s musical talent and emotional intelligence.
“It’s giving PRODIGY,” wrote one user.
Another said, “HE’S 6????? The compassion in his face when he notices you crying is more than most people have by the time they’re 80. What a beautiful kid.”
We hope this sweet 6-year-old continues to play the piano and practice empathy for others!
