“My 7-Year-Old Just Found Out That Me And His Dad Are Married”

A young son comes to the realization that his mom and dad are married.

Children learn things about life at their own pace. Sometimes, they explore new concepts at school and then bring them home to talk with mom or dad, like being married. When Kat Parker was conversing with her 7-year-old, he brought up the subject in a unique way. He began the discussion with an astute observation that he had seen his parents kissing and hugging. That led to his main question.

We’ve been married for 23 years! He knew his dad was my husband but didn’t know we were married 🤣 @SamuelParker70 #funnyvideo #kidscomedy #kidssaythedarnestthings #kidconvos #kidhumor #marriedlifehumor #momhumor

Kat is a leadership and life coach. She has a 22-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter, and the marriage has lasted 23 years. She is no stranger to the rigors of raising inquisitive, tiny humans. It did surprise her a bit when her youngest son solved the equation. Mom and Dad kiss and hug, so that means they must be married. His presentation of the facts was adorable.

Having a strong marriage and raising well-adjusted children doesn’t just happen. Families that plan things out, include some spontaneous moments, and enjoy each other’s company tend to remain strong. With multiple children, parents must carve out individual time to focus on each child. It is essential to make children feel important and allow them to be the center of attention. Kat is doing that with her youngest son during this enlightening conversation.

After going through the nitty-gritty stuff, the evidence confirms his Mom and Dad’s marriage. The real reason for this conversation may have been the song he sang next. Kat’s son launched into the nursery rhyme, “K-I-S-S-I-N-G (Kay Eye Ess Ess Eye En Gee).” Giggling about the impromptu performance, she asked where he’d heard that song.

Their conversation continued, with Kat discussing how long the marriage had lasted. The young boy has a good grasp of the concept.
