We all experience hardships in life. Sometimes it’s just a bad day here and there. Other times, however, we can experience what are called depressive episodes. This overwhelming period of sadness can last weeks but, in some case, they can last even longer. No matter the length of a depressive episode, finding ways to healthily feel your feelings is vital. There are a number of ways to do this, but some may be simpler than you realize. And that includes taking a moment to do a happy dance!

Sure, it may seem like these sisters are simply sharing a fun moment together. But what they’re doing is backed by scientific research when it comes to depression and trauma. Sisters Share the Hilarious Happy Dance They Do to Help Get Through Depressive Episodes Together
In other words, we need to get in touch with and move our bodies! This can look like practicing mindfulness, going outdoors, or dancing. This helps release all of those trapped emotions, something that can be seen through physical symptoms like sweating, crying, or our heart pounding.
Plus, these sweet sisters aren’t just benefiting from their happy dance. By moving together, they’re able to co-regulate one another. Essentially, this means they’re better able to manage their emotions because the other person is there with them, doing the same! How cool is that!?
