You never know when a random skill will come in handy. For one man, those skills includes his quick reflexes and shocking ability to stay calm. Luckily, he was in the perfect position to use those skills at a birthday party. While sat at a table, right next to the birthday girl, someone brought out the birthday cake. From the start, it’s clear that this cake is not very stable.

First of all, it appears to be placed inside a glass container, making it more prone to slipping. Then there’s the fact that it’s being transported on a pretty small carrier. At the start of the video, nearly half of the cake is already hanging off the side. Perhaps the man took notice of this because, the moment the cake starts to slide off, he swoops in for an epic save. See for yourself in the video below!

The woman carrying the cake does everything she can to prevent this mishap. In the end, though, it’s the shockingly calm man at the table who saves the day. As if it’s the most natural, causal thing in the world, he holds out his hands. The cake perfectly lands there, giving the birthday girl the perfect opportunity to blow out her candles.

Needless to say, it’s a good thing someone managed to capture this moment on camera! This is the kind of thing you really do have to see to believe.
