Proud grandad Mike Sheff got the surprise of a lifetime when he visited his daughter, Jessi Way, in the hospital after she gave birth to her son. He and his wife, Julie, walked in and took a long look at the newborn, completely unaware that Jessi had already given him a name.

As they were checking out his chubby cheeks and baby stretches, Mike caught a glimpse of the name tag posted on the baby’s bassinet. It read, “Michael Sheff Way.” Not only did Jessi give the tiny tot her father’s first name, but she also gave him his last. The final tribute was to keep her maiden name alive. The sir’s name ended when she and he sister, Mike’s only children, married and took their husband’s last names.

Family Will ‘Cherish’ the Moment Grandpa Found Out the Baby Was Named After Him

When Mike realized the honor, he broke down in tears. Julie, also touched by the sentiment, began sobbing.

Jessi told the publication that she intentionally kept little Michael’s name a secret. She wanted her father to find out the name exactly as he did.

While Micheal met Grandpa Mike in 2019, Jessi is only now sharing the happy moment on social media. And it has already racked up over 14 million views.

“I think people are craving joy, peace, and happiness, and this video fills those needs, even if only for a minute,” she continued.
