New Yorkers are used to street performers and often go about their businesses without giving them a second glance. But sometimes, what they see and hear is too good to pass up, so they stop and give the performer a chance.
Mike Yung’s incredible subway singing has gone viral multiple times, and people can’t get enough of his soulful voice. Millions have viewed his performances of the Righteous Brothers’ Unchained Melody and Sam Cook’s A Change Gonna Come, and the feedback has been incredible.
Mike’s version of A Change Gonna Come is powerful, and a video posted on YouTube shows how his passion and voice touched even the busiest New Yorkers. People stopped to listen, and one woman even grabbed Mike to hug him and thank him for sharing his gift.
The people in the comments noticed the embrace, and one person wrote, “He couldn’t even sing no more that after that hug. I love this so much brings tears to my eyes.”
Many others agreed.
“I love this version more than anything raw emotions,” someone wriote.
Mike’s song touched a lot of people. Like this person. “When you sing it better than the original..wow..love this version..you feel the soul”

Mike’s Subway Singing Led to Big Things
So many people encouraged Mike to take his music out of the subway, and he auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2017, eventually making his way to the semifinals. Mike loves to sing and share his talent with the world.
Ed Sheeran joined him on the subway platform in 2023, and the pair sang an impromptu diet of Eyes Closed.
