One-Year-Old’s Nonverbal Song Requests Turn Into Adorable Game With Mom

One-year-old uses nonverbal signs to help his mom guess his daily song requests.

Before babies learn to talk, they learn to convey their needs telepathically. Just kidding, although as a parent, it may seem like that sometimes. Most babies develop a way to communicate with their parents to get what they want or need. With one-year-old Cody, body language is the ticket, especially regarding song requests.

Words usually start between 12 and 18 months; before that, children may use body language to convey their needs. Cody has song requests for his mom almost daily, and the guessing has become a favorite game for the two. Mom will ask, “What song do you want?” and guess songs until she gets the sign.

Going by the TikTok name Breeze, Cody’s mom is a busy lady. She has FIVE BOYS under ten years old! She manages the household and also interacts with each of her boys one-on-one. Cody is so effective at nonverbal communication that he may never talk! Breeze had to record a part two of song requests as he added a few tentative la-las and baby noises.

The most unmistakable part of Cody’s body language is the smile when Breeze makes a correct guess. As each song starts, Cody’s face lights up. He bounces and swings his arms, but the smile is the BEST!
