Birth Viral

When you’re the oldest child, a new baby brings a mix of emotions. Sometimes, thinking about having a built-in bestie who will live with you is super exciting. Other times, it can be frustrating and disappointing to think about having to share your parents with another kid.

Jay and Sharon Wey share funny content on Instagram that often involves their family. Sharon recently gave birth to their second child, and Jay promised their 2-year-old daughter a little gift when they left for the hospital.

“And the next time you see [mom], we’ll have a gift for you,” Jay told her.

Of course, she’s thrilled to be getting a present, but she’s a bit confused when she gets to the hospital.

Viral Birth Video Proves That A Baby Brother Is Not A Good Gift

She greets the baby at the hospital and looks around but is very underwhelmed.

“Where’s my gift?” she asked her parents.

Jay told Today he thought the baby was enough, but he was wrong. She was prepared for a gift exchange, and all she got was a lousy brother.

“She filled a satchel with random toys for her brother,” Jay said. “That bag she’s carrying in the video was for him.”

A fellow older child watched the viral birth video and instantly understood the toddler’s plight, “As an elder sibling, I have the same question… ‘Where’s the gift?'”

Another person joked, “She’ll definitely ask if she can return it?”

Jay told Today that after they got home, there was a doll for the new big sis.

“We said it was from her brother, and she really liked that,” he said.

Thankfully, she isn’t jealous of the new baby, and her dad said they’re all doing great. She even gives lots of hugs and kisses.

“She tries to help all the time, but she’s not efficient,” the funny dad said. “It’s counterproductive.”
