In the sweet footage, the daughter entered her parents’ home carrying the new puppy in her arms off-screen. When her dad came into the room, his entire face lit up upon seeing the dog, whose name is Archie.
“No way!” he exclaimed. “Oh, you guys got a puppy! Oh, look at him!”
Within seconds, the man snatched the new puppy out of his daughter’s arms and started cuddling him. When the young woman wanted to take the dog back so that she could introduce him to her mother, Dad wouldn’t let go! Luckily, Mom walked in at that moment, so she also got a chance to meet Archie. Her reaction was equally precious!
It turns out that there was a special reason that these parents were so thrilled to meet their daughter’s new puppy (apart from the fact that he’s incredibly cute). In her caption, the woman explained that Mom and Dad had been close to her previous dog, who passed away.
“Backstory: I recently lost my 12 year pit mix to cancer and my parents took it just as hard as I did and have been just as lost without her,” she wrote.
