Pat Sajak Comes Out Of Retirement & Fans Can’t Contain Themselves

Pat Sajak smiles wide

If you’re already missing Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune, you’re in luck — he’s already out of retirement! Okay, so he’s not fully coming back to the show. But he is making a brief reappearance much sooner than fans would have ever thought. News of this quick return was released just yesterday. That’s exactly a month after Sajak’s final episode on the hit game show aired. But why is he returning, you may be wondering?

Well, it’s not because they can’t find a new host. In fact, the beloved Ryan Seacrest is set to take Sajak’s place at the start of Season 24. That said, there is a spinoff in need of a host for this fall… and that’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune! The next season will start airing on October 7, making this Sajak’s actual final season with the popular franchise.

Pat Sajak first joined Wheel of Fortune in 1981. In the decades since, millions of folks welcomed both him and his co-host, Vanna White, into their homes every night. It’s no wonder, then, that so many of his fans were sad to hear of his departure. That’s also why it’s no surprise that they are oh-so thrilled by the news of his return!

Fans will be able to catch Sajak host the spinoff on Mondays this fall — when there’s no Monday Night Football game, to be more specific. So, although fans can’t count on Sajak returning for good, they can look forward to seeing him around for a bit more. How unexpected and exciting!
