Paul McCartney Once Shared His Heartbreaking Final Moments With George Harrison

Paul McCartney George Harrison

When the Beatles hit the music scene in the early 1960s, they changed the world as we knew it. Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr were trailblazers of rock ‘n’ roll and the first real boy band that made girls swoon. The Fab Four released dozens of albums and 63 singles during their short time together. As a band, they lasted just over a decade. But as friends, it was much longer.

Paul Recalled His Last Visit With George

John was famously assassinated in 1980, and George died from cancer in 2001. Paul was with George shortly before his death and recalled a sweet interaction with his friend. Pubity shared a quote on Instagram from Paul’s interview with The Mirror in 2022. He told the publication that he and George spent time together days before his death. They shared jokes and laughter and Paul felt like he was with his “baby brother.”

“The last time I met him, he was very sick, and I held his hand for four hours. As I was doing it, I was thinking ‘I’ve never held his hand before,'” Paul said.

He added that he thought at some point George would smack him.

“But he didn’t. He just stroked my hand with his thumb and I thought ‘Ah, this is OK. This is life. It’s tough but it’s lovely.'”

Fans loved the story and left sweet comments on Pubity’s post.

“George is the best Beatle, and no one can tell me differently,” a George fan wrote.

Paul was a good friend to all of them tbh, despite his fall off with John. They loved each other very, very much! If only they were together another decade or so,” another wrote.

“All the real friends gone feel this one,” a fan pointed out.
