On Christmas Eve in 2016, an Atlanta, Georgia, nonprofit called Furkids released a “Kitty Kommercial” on YouTube. The video was the brainchild of Helen Preston, a Furkids volunteer, who then convinced her brother, Paul Preston, to star in the homemade advertisement. Paul is a contractor with a rental property management company, but if this video is any indication, he missed his true calling. Get this man a stand-up comedian gig stat!

The tongue-in-cheek ad has a local TV station quality reminiscent of used car commercials. Paul hams it up as the announcer, except instead of selling old vehicles, he’s selling shelter animals – to their forever homes! Touting their “fine selection of quality cats,” he cleverly improvises his way through the shoot with lines like, “You like black cats? We’ve got the blackest cats you’ve ever seen, it’s like midnight in a coffin over here!”
When he started singing “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan, we absolutely lost it! The internet clearly agreed. By the time Christmas Day arrived, the video had taken off. To date, it’s been watched more than 5 million times on YouTube.
Check out Paul’s witty “Kitty Kommercial” in the video below, and don’t forget to share this hilarious story.
