If there is one thing we know for certain about Phil Collins, it’s that his music will hit you right in the feels. Even decades after his songs charted, his music still speaks to fans. On March 26, Phil Collins’ Instagram account posted a throwback video of Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) which he released on that day 41 years ago.

According to the post, the song became a surprise hit because Phil almost didn’t finish it. “Originally a demo for ‘Face Value,’ the song was never finished and left off the final tracklist until Phil was approached by director Taylor Hackford to create the theme song for the neo-noir film ‘Against All Odds.’ Due to being on tour with @genesis_band at the time, Phil sent the unfinished track to Hackford, who loved it and insisted he finish it for the film’s soundtrack.”
