In late 2024, the Robertson family shared that patriarch Phil Robertson’s health declined rapidly. In addition to a battle with Alzheimer’s, the head of the Duck Dynasty, also suffered from a blood disease. The once vibrant and often surly Phil now faces an uphill health battle that a source close to the family says is very difficult on all of them. No one knows when their life will end, and many treat each day as a gift It seems the Robertsons are taking that approach with Phil and trying their best to keep him happy. “They want to give him the best life they possibly can under the circumstances and check in on him often and take him out for drives in the woods to reminisce about the good old days and make sure he’s getting the best care.”
The Family Openly Discussed Phil Robertson And His Health
Sadie Robertson shared a poignant message about her grandfather on Instagram in December. She wrote in part, “There are a lot of people I look up to in ministry, but I wanted to post this picture of me literally looking up to Papaw Phil because as “impressive” as his ministry has become in that he has spoken to millions and millions… the most impressionable thing to me was how he ministered to every single person who stepped in his door and sat on the couch beside his iconic chair.”
Phil Robertson’s sons Willie and Jace spoke to numerous outlets about their father’s health in Decemebr and said they were still trying to determine what was causing Phil to fade so quickly.
