When this wedding photographer lost an SD card with thousands of precious images on it, she was absolutely devastated. Maya James was traveling in Iceland at the time, and she could barely even enjoy the gorgeous scenery when she considered all the work she’d never recover. Or, at least, so she thought. Apparently, a fellow photographer had found the lost SD card and immediately turned to social media for help. They shared some of the images online, asking if anyone recognized the couples in the wedding pictures or knew who might have taken them. Eventually, a local newspaper caught wind of the situation and ran a story about the mysterious memory card.
Maya James couldn’t believe her eyes when she realized that someone had found her photos. Within weeks of contacting the other photographer, she received the lost SD card in the mail! It meant so much to her to have these images back. She was also really touched by the strangers who worked so hard to figure out who the photos belonged to.
In a sweet video on social media, Maya recounted this amazing experience.
“Faith in humanity = restored,” she wrote in her caption.
This photographer was floored when she got her photos back.
Maya added in her comments section that she felt inspired by the generosity of the people who helped her out.
“I was blown away!!” she wrote. “The power of kindness and community is all around us, and I can’t wait to pay it forward soon.
It must have been so scary for this photographer to lose an SD card full of important work. We’re so glad that Maya was reunited with her photos!
