This Christmas, the Oklahoma City Zoo is spoiling its lion cubs rotten! A precious video on social media shows these animals receiving their holiday presents, and the footage is pretty cute. However, this is just the beginning. These big cats will be getting even more gifts where those came from as part of the zoo’s Enrich-mas celebration!

In this adorable clip, the lion cubs were absolutely delighted to find their enclosure littered with fun things to play with. For the first round of Enrich-mas, the zoo decided to treat these critters to a real crowd-pleaser: cardboard boxes! Some of them were even decorated with pictures of candy canes or gingerbread men for a little extra holiday flair.
Although cardboard boxes might not sound like exciting gifts, these lion cubs couldn’t wait to sink their teeth into the packages. They had the best time ripping them to shreds! Of course, it wouldn’t be a very jolly Enrich-mas without a little variety. So, the zoo also provided a number of melons for the animals to play with. Judging by the enthusiasm with which they batted the fruit around with their paws, these items were also a bit hit!
“Holiday enrichment featuring melons and boxes that we know cats love no matter how big,” wrote the Oklahoma City Zoo in their caption.

These holiday presents really brought out the kitten in these lion cubs. It even looks like an adult lion joined in the festive tun! Enrich-mas isn’t the only time of year these big cats get gifts, though. Last fall, the zoo presented them with pumpkins to play with!
It’s amazing to see the pure joy and curiosity with which these lion cubs approach new toys, no matter what they are. We can’t wait to see what they’ll receive for the next day of Enrich-mas!
