As parents, we must teach our kids what to do in an emergency. Knowing their names, addresses, and phone numbers is very important. Children must also learn how to call 911 if an adult cannot get to the phone and needs help. A 2-year-old boy in Moore, Oklahoma, listened when his parents told him about calling the police in case of an emergency, and he did just that. Little Bennett got ahold of an old cell phone and began playing. The toddler dialed 911 and made a gibberish phone call with the phrase “emergency donuts.” Once the dispatcher realized there wasn’t an emergency, the Moore Police Department came through quickly.

Officers Brought The Toddler Donuts After His 911 Call
Bennett’s parents had no idea their son was actually talking to 911—they thought he was playing.
“They were appalled that this had happened,” Clint Byley, a public information officer with the police department, told People. “They were like, ‘Oh my gosh. We thought he was just playing a game with us.’”
The police department loved the call and brought Bennet donuts, per his request. They also used it as a teaching moment for parents and kids, writing on Facebook, “Our new friend Bennett and his special phone call has really gotten popular! Just one more reminder for those with little ones and cell phones. While it may be unable to use high-speed data networks, take photos, or play music, many can still call 911 in an emergency. As long as an old cell phone is functional and has battery power, it can be used in an emergency. Meanwhile, enjoy your Saturday donuts.”
A follower wrote of the sweet toddler 911 call, “It’s things like these that make a dispatcher smile! He was so cute when he kept saying, ‘Emergency Donuts.’ Moore Police Department, you are the best!!!!! This is something that he and his family can look back and chuckle about.”
