We all have bad days. But when you’re a parent, those bad days are often closely observed by curious kiddos. This can add pressure to already stressful moments, of course, but it’s clear that Taschia Tarter is doing something right. One day, she had her toddler join her in making a meal. At some point, the toddler was tasked to pour a spoonful of something into a bag. Mom helped guide her, but she ended up taking the reins. As a result, much of the ingredient was poured outside of the bag, creating a bit of a mess. You can see the moment this mom’s face falls, understandably upset by this moment happening on an already rough day. But before Mom can even respond, her little girl proves to be wise beyond her years…

“It’s okay! Sometimes we make a mess, Mom. It’s okay,” the adorable little girl cheerfully says, noting that she would make messes sometimes “when I was a baby.”

While making a mess is frustrating, especially on rough days, this little girl is right. Making a mess doesn’t have to be the end of the world. This simple message meant the world to Mom and helped put things into perspective. Plus, the toddler’s reaction is a reflection of the way her parents speak to her.

This Adorable Toddler’s Wise Words Make Mom’s Rough Day So Much Brighter

“She’s reflecting the way you treat her and that’s beautiful,” someone points out in the comments, with another noting, “She’s gentle parenting you.”

“Not once was she even worried you would be mad and instead spoke to you like you speak to her,” a third person shares. “Good job, Mama. Sometimes they know just what we need.”
