At the beginning of the clip, it seemed like this foster dog was very interested in his first toy, but he had no idea what to do with it. Twinkle simply stood there, wide-eyed, holding the plushy in his mouth for a while. He was wagging his tail, though, which was a good sign!
Mom tried encouraging the bewildered pup with soothing words.
“Twinkle, I love your toy,” she said, later adding, “It’s a really good one.”
Eventually, Twinkle laid down with the plushy and began to chew on it. Despite his initial reluctance, this dog started going to town on his first toy! Isabel was so proud of him.
“He was a little unsure at first, but he got it,” she wrote in the caption of her video.
Twinkle might be a little too good at playing with his toys now…
In a later video, this dog’s foster mom shared that Twinkle got even better at playing with his toys after his first experience. In fact, he’s mastered the art of ripping the stuffing out of his favorite plushies!
According to an earlier post, it wasn’t easy to get Twinkle to come out of his shell. At first, this pooch was extremely defensive. He wouldn’t allow his new mom to get too close to his crate, even if she offered him food. However, Isabel eventually figured out the secret to earning this little dog’s trust: cheese! Despite the pup’s fear, this was one delicacy he just couldn’t pass up.
Twinkle has made so much progress since first moving into his foster home. It’s amazing how a dog’s personality can change when they’re in a safe and loving space!
