People reported, per Dress Like a Duchess, that William gifted Kate several pieces of jewelry while they were dating. He knew she was the one for him and gave her a promise ring filled with sentiment.
The simple rose gold band is filled with pearls, his birthstone, and garnets, which represent Kate’s birth month in January. She reportedly wore it to her 2005 graduation from St. Andrew’s, where she and William met.
The ring symbolized “commitment and fidelity as well as a pledge for lifelong love and loyalty,” Dress Like a Duchess Explained.
Tatler said the stones in her ring “are said to represent commitment, and pearls are known to be a symbol of innocence and purity.”
