Princess Kate attended Wimbledon on July 14th—marking her second apperance since her cancer diagnosis—and the crowd welcomed her with an emotional standing ovation.

Kate walked into the stadium on Sunday morning to watch the men’s singles finals with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa, by her side. As she made her way to the Royal Box, the entire crowd rose to applaud and cheer, which was visibly touching to Kate.

“When [Kate] usually comes in, she walks down the steps and into her seat,” entertainment and royal photographer Karwai Tang told People. “She doesn’t normally stand and wave. But she stood for a while and took it all in. For her to acknowledge it and take in the applause was special.”

However, Princess Kate wasn’t the only person moved by the sentiment. Charlotte, 9, beamed as the Wimbledon fans gave her mother a warm welcome. She took her seat while Kate waved and thanked the crowd and watched with pride.

Wimbledon was Princess Kate’s second official public outing since doctors discovered cancer during an unrelated abdominal surgery earlier this year. She stepped out for the first time to celebrate King Charles during the Trooping the Colour parade on June 15th.
