“From the time she started here in first grade all the way through her senior year in high school, she has had the most amazing experiences of people being really, really kind to her and doing these wonderful things for her,†said mom Sabrina Wycoff.

That statement was certainly proved true on April 8th when Keilany, moments after winning the coveted prom queen title, turned to Abby and placed the crown on her head and sash around her shoulders. With a giant hug, the moment was soon over… but it made all the difference in the world for Abby and those who witnessed Keilany’s act of kindness.

Word quickly began to travel around the small Texas town and Abby’s story quickly went viral. People were just so encouraged that Keilany would consider Abby to be more deserving of the illustrious title than herself.

Though Keilany gave up her sash and crown that day, on April 18th her classmates and teachers surprised her in the best way.

Keilany was then presented with a brand new sash and crown in honor of her kind gesture for Abby. “When they re-crowned me, I was surprised and felt honored to have all my friends and teachers around me,”Keilany says. “It made me feel special, and it was a moment I’ll never forget.â€
