Quincy Jones Penned A Message To Daughter Hours Before His Death, “I Love You Eternally”

The world lost one of the greatest record producers of all time on November 3, when Quincy Jones passed away. Quincy reportedly died at 91 years old at his home in Bel Air surrounded by his family, the Associated Press reported. Quincy made an indelible mark on music, working with some of the biggest names in the business, from Michael Jackson to Frank Sinatra, during a career that spanned more than 60 years. His first hit single was Leslie Gore’s It’s My Party, and I’ll Cry if I Want to, and he won 28 Grammys during his incredible career. Quincy Jones will be missed by many, but most sorely by his family who he posted about on Instagram.

Quincy Jones Shared Loving Messages About His Children On Instagram

A father of seven, Quincy used social media to share love for his family. Among his last Instagram posts were birthday messages to his daughters Martina Jones and Kidada Jones. The day he died, Quincy Jones posted a photo of himself and Martina captioned,

“Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena @martinafotos1!! 🎉. So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally.”

In March, Quincy Jones shared a picture of himself, Kidada, and ex-wife Peggy Lipton on Instagram with the caption, “My Kidada my muse & the ultimate inspiration behind “My Kidada” (which means little sister in Swahili) from “The Color Purple.” You are pure love, light, & a bit of fight & I’m grateful to call U mine!!…((:0))…xxoo…Happy Birthday, Pie!”

Many stars posted tributes to Quincy Jones in the hours after his passing.

Daris Rucker posted on X, “We have lost one of the all-time greats. The world will miss Quincy Jones. Rest my friend.”

LL Cool J shared a tribute to Quincy Jones on Instagram, “You were a father and example at a time when I truly needed a father and example. Mentor. Role model. King. You gave me opportunities and shared wisdom. Music would not be music without you. My condolences to the entire family. I love you. Rest in the sweetest music eternally. #ripquincyjones one of one.”

Quincy Jones’ family shared a statement on November 3 that reads, “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the family said in a statement. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
