There is nothing better than celebrating an anniversary. The more years you spend with your soulmate, the faster life goes by. Reba McEntire and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, knew each other for nearly three decades before their relationship took a romantic turn. They recently celebrated five years together. The pair enjoy each other’s company so much, they co-star on Happy’s Place. Reba told Jennifer Hudson in 2023, she and Rex connected while filming Young Sheldon.

“I was doing Young Sheldon, the TV show, Rex was doing Young Sheldon—so was Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on the Reba show,” she recalled. “Rex texted me and said, ‘You gonna be in town?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Well, let’s go to dinner.'”
Rex Linn Gave Reba Her Nickname That Night
She told Jennifer, “I said, ‘What do you have?’ They said, ‘Well, we have tater tots.’ I went, [raises hand], and so Rex said, ‘That’s your nickname from here on out—Tater Tot.'”
Reba shared an anniversary photo of the pair on January 23. She captioned it, “Celebrating five years of tater tots this week!”
She included a throwback picture, too. Of course, seeing Reba look so happy with Rex Linn made her fans happy.
One wrote, “You two are the cutest, and I love that you’re on ‘Happy’s Place’ together Happy 5th Anniversary.”
This person got the feels from Reba’s post. “Oh my goodness stop I’m gonna cry!!! I’m so happy you found one another and God puts everyone in our lives for a reason!!! You found your somebody! Happy Anniversary!”
It looks like Reba gave fans a bit of a Rex Linn Easter Egg on their new show, too. “Oh my gosh! I forgot the tater tot thing. The tater tot deal in @happy’splace makes so much more sense now!”
