Red Carpet Laughs: Asking Celebrities To Sign Old Photographs Of Themselves

Ilona Maher looks at the camera as she holds a mic and interviews Reese Witherspoon who has her eyes closed, one hand on her forehead like she's frustrated

Events like the Emmys are meant to celebrate some of the most talented celebrities around. That said, there’s no harm in pulling off a fun little “prank” on the red carpet, right? Sunday’s award show saw lots of hosts on the red carpet. That said, the very best may have been led by Ilona Maher. Yes, the U.S. Olympic rugby player who was recently announced as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.

Amidst the sea of stars, there were a select few who Maher had a surprise for during their interview. This includes Reese Witherspoon, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Hannah Einbinder. When each of them approached Maher, they were asked to autograph a photo. This isn’t an unusual request for any celebrity… most of the time, anyway. In this case, however, each celebrity was asked to sign old (and sometimes silly) photos! See their hilarious reactions in the video below.

While Witherspoon, Ralph, and Einbinder still look great in these photos, we can’t blame them for the way they react. There isn’t a world where they expected to sign photos older or silly photos like these, much less these specific ones! Still, it is very clear that each of them had a blast with this silly surprise. Though, I have a feeling their fans enjoyed these moments even more.

“Auntie Sheryl looked like she got transported through time and was fighting back tears seeing her younger self… how sweet this iconic woman is,” one fan writes in the comment section, with another adding, “This trend is such a vibe.”

“So glad they played along with a harmless joke,” a third person notes, “so funny.”
