Remembering Shelley Duvall: Fans Share Outpouring Of Love For The Late “Shining” Star

On July 11, Shelley Duvall passed away at the age of 75. According to reports, the beloved actor did so in her sleep. The cause is said to be from complications related to diabetes. She was in her home in Blanco, Texas. Ever since this news broke, fans and loved ones of Duvall have taken the time to remember and honor this iconic figure in Hollywood. This includes her partner since 1989, Dan Gilroy.

“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us,” Gilroy shares. “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley.”

Over the course of decades, Duvall made quite a name for herself, garnering attention for her eccentric personality. She was able to take on a variety of memorable roles, always making them her own. Some of her most popular work includes her role as Wendy Torrance in The Shining and Olive Oyl in Popeye, where she starred alongside Robin Williams.
