Rescued Sheep Gets New Prosthetic Leg & Second Chance At Life!

A rescue sheep tests out her prosthetic leg.

A three-legged rescue sheep is getting the care she needs, and that includes a replacement for her prosthetic leg. Woodstock Sanctuary shared a video on TikTok about one of their sheep who requires some help getting around. Due to a complication with her previous prosthetic, the animal was fitted for new equipment. It’s so much easier for her to walk now!

Cat (that’s the sheep’s name!) got to take her prosthetic leg for a test drive at My Pet’s Brace before taking it home. Although it took her a little while to get used to the new appendage, her life at the sanctuary has been much improved by the upgrade! More recent footage shows Cat happily trotting alongside her fellow sheep.

“She was very brave on the road trip, and got a lot of compliments from the staff there as she tested out her new leg up and down the hallways,” wrote the animal sanctuary in their caption.

Prosthetics can make a world of difference for animals with missing limbs. We’re so glad that Cat the sheep is able to live her best life!

Cat update! 🐑 Last month we ordered Cat a new prosthetic for her leg (thank you to everyone who donated to her new gear ❤️). We did imaging, casting, and then last week the new prosthetic finally arrived! We drove Cat back to My Pet’s Brace to try it on. She was very brave on the road trip, and got a lot of compliments from the staff there as she tested out her new leg up and down the hallways.
The cost of Cat’s imaging and prosthesis creation was $2306, and that doesn’t include the travel costs of going to and from PA twice recently to complete the process! We need to pay off several vet bills this week, including Cat’s last visit. Right now, all donations are MATCHED until the end of the year — please help us cover the costs of Cat’s vet visit! #whywoodstock
