More than 100 native species in Australia are struggling for survival. The largest factor in this battle is feral cats. They have already caused the extinction of several types of ground-dwelling birds. Cats are also a threat to small and medium-sized mammals. To gain better control over feral cat populations, many municipalities in Australia are creating cat curfews for domestic animals. The curfews specify that household cats must be kept within the confines of the owner’s property. The cat enclosure business is currently booming as owners try to restrict their meow-makers.
