♬ Pink Pony Club – Chappell Roan

Rick isn’t rolling anyone today. He released an acoustic cover version of Chappell Roan’s hit, “Pink Pony Club” on his YouTube channel. The popular song discusses finding a club designed just for self-expression. The song, written in 2020, was inspired by a visit to The Abbey, a bar in Los Angeles. It took several years for the general public to understand the meaning behind the song.

Once listeners understood the lyrics and realized the Pink Pony Club was synonymous with “a safe space,” the song rapidly gained popularity. The lyrics tell listeners, “It’s OK to be you.” The fact that so many people from every walk of life can relate to this song is amazing.

Kayleigh Rose Amstutz was born in Willard, Missouri. Recognizing her talent, she was signed to her first record deal at 17. Kayleigh adopted her stage name “Chappell” from Dennis Chappell, her late grandfather. “Roan” is from the Marty Robbins song, “The Strawberry Roan,” which was her grandfather’s favorite song.
