For decades, Robin Williams brought smiles to millions of faces. Some of us remember him as Mork from Ork in the classic sitcom Mork and Mindy. Others delighted in the antics of Euphegenia Doubtfire in Mrs. Doubtfire. Then there are those who loved him for his more serious roles in Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams. There will never be another Robin Williams, and his death nearly a decade ago left loved ones and fans heartbroken.

Williams would have turned 73 years old on July 21, and his son, Zak Williams, paid tribute to his father with a loving message on X.

He wrote, “Dad, on what would be your 73rd birthday, I remember you for all the hope and joy you brought to the world. There’s not a week that goes by without someone sharing with me how you helped them through a dark time or a rough patch. I’m so grateful to be your son. Love you forever.”

Sometimes, when life is hard, it’s easy to get lost in a fantasy world with our favorite movie or TV show. Robin Williams gave that escape to many and they flocked to Zak Williams’ post to thank him for sharing the sweet message about his father.

Thousands shared their love for Robin Williams.

Someone wrote, “A picture of the man loved by millions accompanied the message and thousands of fans shared kind words about the legendary talent with his son.”

Another shared a birthday wish. “Happy Birthday to him, and thank you for sharing with us. He still makes my heart smile harder than anyone when he comes across the screen.”

A fan recalled the sadness they felt when Robin Williams died in August 2014 and wrote, “When he passed away, I cried… He was like a family member to me, someone you feel close to and need. He will remain in my heart forever.”

Though he may be gone in body, Robin Williams’ legacy will live on forever through his incredible career. He left us with a few good words of advice—like this, “Sometimes you can have a whole lifetime in a day and never notice that this is as beautiful as it gets.”
