A concerning storm started to brew, forcing them to put a pause on their journey across the Pacific. Luckily, there was an island nearby. And although it was remote, it wasn’t entirely empty. A small community lived there, but there were no airports or ferries. With that in mind, you can imagine how shocked they were to discover that three French sailors were stuck there. This meant that Max and Maddie were their only hope for leaving anytime soon…
@un.tide READ THIS FOR CONTEXT: Whilst sailing across the Pacific, we pulled into a remote island to escape a storm. We found three French sailors, that had been stranded in the island for weeks. Although a small community lived there, there was no airport or ferry, and the supply ship hadn’t been for weeks. We were their only way off the island, and obvs we weren’t going to leave them there. Odds are, you’re reaction to this adventure is similar to many others: How could they trust these three strangers? Well, for starters, the five of them stayed together on the island for about a week. In that time, Max and Maddie got to know them better. So, in the end, they chose to lend a helping hand, no doubt aware they’d hope others would offer them the same kindness if they were in this situation.

Once this crew of five hopped onboard Elixir, they only had to sail about 200 miles before reaching the well-populated island of Tonga. This is where Max and Maddie parted ways with the three French sailors they now consider friends. There’s no doubt that Bruno, Fanny, and Jules will never forget the kindness shown to them during this great time of need!
