“Scary Carrie” Underwood Shows Her Heavy Metal Skills During “American Idol” Audition

Carrie Underwood Heavy Metal

Carrie Underwood is a country queen, but behind the soft exterior lies a heavy metal baddie. Well, kind of. American Idol kicked off on 23 March 9, with Carrie at the judging table alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The premier had plenty of memorable moments, but one Carrie Underwood scene shocked fans. Carrie, 42, apparently had a lot in common with a contestant named Kobyn Melton, who goes by the stage name Insite. Carrie told Luke and Lionel she knew every word of Insite’s audition song, Freak on a Leash, by Korn. And then she really stepped out of the box.
