Security Camera Captures Once-In-A-Lifetime Moment Between Bartender & Patron

Tending bar can be a thankless job, with few rewards beyond tips and the occasional friendly patron. For Shannon Quigley, it was a routine day in her bar, The Dingle. She was having a good day, sharing jokes with customers. She found a hat on the bar and flung it toward one of her regulars like a Frisbee. The bartender hat throw was not something she practiced. It was done on a whim. The hat sailed through the air before landing squarely on the customer’s head!

Not many people would have believed it if the bar’s security camera hadn’t caught the action. The bar is located in Solihull, England. This once-in-a-lifetime bartender hat throw will be a tough act to follow. You can see the perfect trajectory of the cap as it crosses the gap. The most curious part of the video is that the customer barely moved to acknowledge that someone threw something at him. Shannon took a few seconds to celebrate the accomplishment.

While this was a phenomenal feat, it is not the first time Shannon Quigley and The Dingle have made headlines. During the 2021 lockdown, Shannon and her patrons undertook a project to help the homeless by creating blankets from discarded crisp bags.

Shannon and her customers collected discarded foil potato chip bags. After ironing the bags flat, they sealed them together, creating insulated blankets and sleeping bag liners. The foil inside the bags reflects body heat. The project delivered a potentially life-saving outcome. The entire community helped by donating empty crisp packages. The small project had a significant impact.

Whether celebrating a perfect bartender hat throw or working on a community project, Shannon Quigley is leaving her mark.
