Sheinelle Jones Reveals The “Serious” Situation That Is Keeping Her From “Today”

There have been changes at the Today Show recently, with Hota Kotb’s retirement and Craig Melvin taking her place. We also learned about the new fourth hour, Today with Jenna and Friends, and her first guest co-host Scarlett Johansson. But one person on the Today team has been noticeably absent from all the excitement. Sheinelle Jones, who joined the show in 2014, has been away from the program since December 18. Concerned fans began to worry about the mother of three and hoped to see her soon. But nearly a month after her departure, she finally decided to make an announcement.

Sheinelle Jones Has Been Dealing With A Family Health Matter

On January 15, Sheinelle took to Instagram to address her absence. She wrote, “I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter,” she shared

“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not on the support of my ‘Today Show’ family, but to also have all of you,” Sheinelle added. “Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon. Love, Sheinelle.”

Her Today Show family quickly commented.

Savannah Guthrie wrote, “we love you so. not the same without you. we will see you soon.”

Jenna Hager agreed, “You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always.”

So did Hoda Kotb, “We love you ….. you are being held….. you are family xoxo.”

A fan wrote, “Thank you so much for sharing about your situation wishing all the best for your family situation and we look forward to seeing you soon on the show.”

This fan added, “Worried about you! Pray Sheinelle! Brighter days are ahead. Blessings!”

A source reportedly told People the health matter is “serious” but does not involve Sheinelle, her husband, or her children.
